Humans are mainly to blame for animal extinctions, deforestation and polluted waters as well as the damaged ozone layer and the ever struggling environment. We hear about this all the time, on TV and in magazines so its about time we really did something about it.

When most people hear the words environmentally friendly or green living they immediately associate them with hard work and lots of expenses. Look at some of the following methods that you can help to save our planet.

Employ Gadgets Repeatedly

A fair amount of trash is generated by the plastics we use, so invest in reusable shopping bags as well as other reusable items so that you can reduce how much plastic you make use of.

Trying To Recycle Things You Make Use Of On A Regular Basis

Recycle anything you are able to. Items such as meals, batteries, and fixtures can be recycled. Each time these items are discarded, they create fumes that accelerate the problem of global warming. If you recycle you will likely be helping to make new merchandise from old materials as well as halting more rubbishing from ending up in landfill sites.

Incorporate Public Transportation Into Your Lifestyle

Using public travel, such as the bus or even train will help reduce your carbon footprint. If most people took the bus, we could reduce the number of cars and consequently decrease the amount of carbon we put into the atmosphere. If you are unable to use public transport consider getting lifts with buddies and family. It would be even better if you could go walking or cycle instead of making use of any vehicle!

Conserve Electrical Power

When you are done with some thing turn the thing off! Even if it truly is only the TV on standby its nevertheless using electricity for the little lights on the front! Switch off lights when you leave a room. It all is essential.

Spend Money On From Hometown Vendors

After you buy food that has been grown locally, it doesn’t travel as far prior to it it reaches your dinner table. Selecting organic foods can lessen your exposure to insecticides and other powerful chemicals applied in the growing process. These various chemicals can be harmful to both an individual and the soil.

Global Warming – The Sky May Not Be Falling But the Planet is Getting Warmer

Well, there sure is an awful lot of talk going around about Global Warming and the negative effects we, as humans, continue to have on our planet. Seems like every time you turn on the television or open up a newspaper, there it is, reduce this, recycle that, Go Green and Save our Planet. What are the facts. Is global warming a real danger, or just some man made hype about how we’re killing our planet, designed to get you to buy into the fear so ‘big business’ can sell you more stuff? Let’s examine the issues around Global Warming.

Is the earth really getting warmer?

Although local temperatures continue to fluctuate naturally, it has been documented, over the past 50 years the average global temperature has increased at the fastest rate in recorded history. Experts think the trend is accelerating. The 10 hottest years ever recorded have all occurred since 1990. Scientists agree, unless we curb the production of global warming emissions, the average U.S. temperature could increase by 3 to 9 degrees by the end of the century.

What causes global warming?

Carbon dioxide and other air pollution that is collecting in the atmosphere like a thickening blanket, trapping the sun’s heat and causing the planet to warm-up. Burning fossil fuels at the World’s power plants are the largest sources of carbon dioxide pollution. Coal burning power plants in the U.S. alone help to produce over 2.5 billion tons of CO2 every year. Automobiles, the second largest source of the deadly CO2, combine to create nearly 1.5 billion tons annually.

The good news, technologies exist today to make cars that run cleaner and burn less gas. In addition, modernized power-plants and alternative sources of energy such as solar and wind are combining to help reduce CO2 emissions World Wide. The challenge is to make sure solutions are put to use.

Is global warming causing bad things to happen?

It seems, global warming is already causing damage in many parts of the United States. In 2002, Colorado, Arizona, and Oregon endured their worst wildfire seasons ever. The same year, drought created severe dust storms in Montana, Colorado and Kansas, and floods caused hundreds of millions of dollars in damages in Texas, Montana and North Dakota. Snow accumulations have decreased almost 60% since the 1950′s and the winter seasons have grown shorter in many areas around the globe. In addition, extreme heat waves have caused more than 20,000 deaths in Europe and more than 1,500 deaths in India. Perhaps the most tell tale sign of global warming has been the steady decrease in the Arctic;s perennial ice caps by the alarming rate of over 9% per decade.

Is there really cause for serious concern?

Global warming is a complex phenomenon, and its full-scale implications are hard to predict in advance. Each year, scientists learn more about how global warming is affecting the planet, and many agree that certain consequences are likely to occur if current trends continue. Melting glaciers, early snow melt and severe droughts will cause more dramatic water shortages in the American West and throughout the World. Rising sea levels will lead to coastal flooding on the Eastern seaboard, in Florida, and in other areas, such as the Gulf of Mexico. Warmer sea temperatures will fuel more intense hurricanes in the southeastern Atlantic and Gulf coasts. While these are just a few of the impending environmental disasters we face if we don’t curb our green house gas production, the full implications are still unknown.

You see, despite what your personal thoughts and beliefs are regarding global warming, it appears to be a real issue with far reaching implications. Even if your not concerned with any of these disturbing global developments, you may want to consider looking into ways you can cut back on your personal CO2 production. It’s our planet, it’s our responsibility to take care of it.
