There’s no question that our planet is warming up. Average global temperatures have risen around the world in the last 100 years, especially in the past 20 years. There are many theories out there when looking for answers to this, but only two are obvious. One of those theories is the idea that the Earth naturally goes through temperature cycles during the course of its existence. Another idea is that we as humans are introducing untold amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and this is causing the planet to heat up.

Regardless of how and why Earth is warming up, it’s happening, won’t stop anytime soon, and may be dangerous in the long run. Maybe it’s human activity or maybe it’s not, nobody will be able to tell us what the exact cause is. However, what we do know is the human population most certainly contributes to the warming of the planet. The good part is we have the power to slow it down and cut our carbon dioxide output down drastically.

There are many things you can do to help our environment and cut down on your carbon footprint, all of which are reductions of energy usage at home and on the road. First and foremost, replace all the light bulbs in all your residencies to the energy-efficient bulbs. This is huge and will save you hundreds of dollars a year on your power bill, thus promoting a cleaner environment. You can also replace your old appliances with newer, energy-efficient models. The same goes for your air conditioner. These are the top 3 ways to cut your power costs at home.

There’s now a 4th and big way to reduce your carbon footprint and power bill, that is, solar panels and wind turbines you can build yourself. You can find guides and manuals online that teach you about everything you need to know. The best part about this is how simple and easy it is to construct a green energy power system in your home. Not many people know about this, but it’s a serious money saver when comparing DIY green energy to professional installations. They cost tens and tens of thousands of dollars. If you’re interested in such projects there’s a popular new site on the internet that will feed you all the information you need.

Finally, and the most effective way to reduce your carbon footprint is to avoid driving your vehicle! Walk, jog, roller blade, or bike everywhere and anywhere you can. Get that blood pumping and the savings of fuel and energy mount up incredibly fast. If you can apply multiple techniques described here, I guarantee your energy costs will drop drastically.

Regardless of what’s causing global warming, we should all be striving to do our part and cut down our carbon footprints. Whether it’s turning the TV off at night or riding your bike to school, the Earth and the people inhabiting it will thank you.

Do it yourself green energy projects are affordable, cost-effective, and can save you thousands of dollars in the long run, not to mention its great for our planet!

How would it feel to get your home electricity for free and help save the earth at the same time?

Getting energy from the sun to power your household needs has always been an interesting concept. Solar energy is radiation from the sun that can generate electricity, produce heat is non polluting and won’t run out. Harnessing the sun’s energy has normally been too expensive to be practical. However the cost of materials needed to build your own solar collectors, i. e. solar panels; is now more affordable than one may think and it is easy and fun to do.

A solar panel collects energy from the sun and converts is to usable energy for a home or building. During the day, the panels produce energy that is fed back into the electrical companies power grid which sometimes causes your meter to run backwards.

Imagine having a lower electric bill every month or better yet possibly no bill and still having all the electricity you need. There are also federal tax credits that the government offers for using alternative energy sources.

These panels come in a variety of sizes and can be placed anywhere, within 1,000 feet, of the home or building to be powered. The panels required light but not heat and weigh about twice as much as a typical shingle.

In addition to saving money, solar energy gives us all the opportunity to do our part to help save the earth by not stripping her of her dwindling natural resources.

Do you want to save money on your electric bill? Would you want the electric company to possibly be paying you for not using their electricity?

Everything that we do, we leave a carbon footprint like leaving footprints on the sand. Whether we eat, play or drive, CO2 is produced in the process of breathing, burning your car fuel and even the cooking of your food. Each of us leave a certain amount of carbons and we should focus on lowering it.

Before starting, you should find online carbon calculators. They help you in figuring out how much carbon are you actually producing in your daily life. From that estimate, you can start on cutting out some of the activities that leave a big amount of carbon footprints.

The first thing you can do is replacing the light bulbs with compact florescent ones that uses less energy. While you are at that, turn of all unnecessary electric appliances that is not used. If you need to constantly use that appliance, make sure it has a high energy rating which in turn will save you a lot in the long run.

Another method to follow are the 3 R’s, reduce, reuse and recycle. It will helps in reducing your general waste output which affects the greenhouse gas emissions. Do try to save water as they are a precious resource that everyone tends to forget. Drink tap water rather than buying bottled water.

Whenever you can, try to substitute the power source with a renewable green energy like solar panels or wind turbine. Being less reliant on traditional power sources helps in reducing your carbon emission. You can even buy offsets to help reduce your carbon emission. Offsets are resources or projects that you can help fund that will help in reducing carbon emission globally.

By following these steps, you may not necessarily reach full carbon neutrality but at the very least you will lower your carbon emission in a huge amount.

Dubai: Thirty small-scale solar-powered desalination plants will be operational in the next 15 months to provide animals with watering holes in Abu Dhabi’s desert environment.

Two of the plants are already in use desalting brackish water from underground aquifers into fresh potable water, said a water resources expert from the Environment Agency — Abu Dhabi (EAD).

However the cost of using solar power for bigger desalination plants that produce millions of litres of fresh water for mass human consumption is still too high, said Dr Mohammad Dawoud, Manager of Water Resources Department at EAD.

Currently the cost of one desert desalination plant is Dh3 million.

Each plant will be of identical size with the same desalination capacity of five cubic metres of water per hour. The plants will be operated remotely and solar power will be harnessed by solar panels spanning 300 square metres at each site — enough to create 45 kilowatts of electricity per hour.

“The purpose of the plants is to establish a water source for the thousands of animals in the middle of the desert where there is no power. There will be no impact on the environment and the operating cost for the next 15 years is lower than transporting oil to use to create energy,” said Dawoud.

The plants will be working six to eight hours everyday. Brine, or waste water, will be pumped to an evaporation lake measuring between 30 to 40 metres in diameter and fenced off to keep animals at bay. It will also be sealed underground to avoid any leaks into to the ground water.

“Very little salt will actually be produced. Around three cubic metres of water will be discharged per hour into the evaporation lake. From time to time it will have to be maintained and the salt removed and disposed of in a landfill,” said Dawoud.

A subsurface irrigation system will pump some of the freshwater water back underground in order to create irrigated land to grow fodder for the animals.

According to the International Desalination Association, the daily production of desalinated water in the UAE is 8.4 million cubic metres. It was announced last year that future desalination production investments by Abu Dhabi and Dubai were pegged at up to $40 billion (Dh146.8 billion) to meet increasing water demand.

Whenever it concerns alternative electricity Methods, you are going to discover that it is regularly employed to describe fossil fuels, but you are going to also realize that these areas are going to be placed beneath an alternative sort of non-renewable energy methods. If we discuss renewable electricity it is crucial for two reasons. You are going to find that there’s tons which is harming our Earths ecology. You shall ascertain that there is a ton of succeeding destruction from the CO2 fumes and results caused by the fossil fuels. Renewable sorts of electricity are generally a great thing for the Earth, making a much fresher choice. In addition, renewable power sources are exactly what their title implies- renewable. As a result, these Resources of energy won’t peter out or be rare and costly, as fossil fuels sooner or later will. Since the renewable power Techniques are being increasingly searched for, it is simply a matter of time until large energy companies begin their change from fossil fuels to these alternative energy Sources.

There are numerous various types of renewable energy, consisting of water, geothermal, solar, wind, tidal, and biomass. These energy Sources will have a positive result on the eco system as there is nothing created by the power Methods which is able to destroy the environment at all. Solar energy is made up from energy from sunlight. We notice this in daily experiences as solar panels are layed on swimming pools to assist in harvesting and holding in the hot light. If you wear dark clothes on a hot morning, you will be aware of the power of solar energy. Solar energy conducts this heat and changes it into worthwhile power, that we can utilize to bring warmth into our houses and run extra electronic gadgets. Wind electricity is among the earliest variants of alternate electricity, alongside water power, Wind mills and water wheels were employed as early on as the Dark Ages to make electricity, and are still being used in numerous lands in various styles. Through utilizing energy generators, you shall be able to change energy into electrical energy by implementing devices like generators, water wheels, wind mills, and other ancient engineering techniques. Geothermal power takes advantage of the warmth from the Earths under surface, by exploiting geological hot spots such as volcanic locations, to produce power. Biomass is likewise an extreme earth-like technique of generating thermal energy. This type of renewable energy pertains to the utilization of early tiny animals to generate thermal energy and other kinds of electricity. High tides may commence to create power or energy in the same way that water wheels and wind mills do, simply on a bigger level. The sea might likewise be harnessed for its heated surface and cold bottom temperatures to change heat to usable electricity.

When it comes to the crunch, you’ll find that the only down side you will find in employing renewable electricity Resources and not fossil fuels is just the present expense of doing it. It’s really pricey, yet it could noticeably help our environment and our individual wellness. Water, solar, wind, and different methods have been studied in order that you can have renewable and alternative power Forms. The majority of folks shall heartily agree that fossil fuels aren’t going to be here eternally, and now is the exact time to begin planning for the succeeding civilizations. You may like to meditate about campaigning for these alternate Resources as it shall make the planet pretty and the oxygen healthy for your babies and their babies.

Save as Much Power as Possible

We use electricity for many things in our lives, and often do so without thinking
twice about it. We turn on the switch for lights in our home and to turn on
electronic devices all the time. Yet we need to do our best to save as much
power as we can.

The types of light bulbs that you are using can be a problem for the environment.
There are many places that sell those that are energy efficient though. You can
get them in any size you need for all the rooms in your home. They aren’t very
expensive and what you do spend on them you will save with a lower electricity
bill each month.
It is very simple to cut back on the amount of lighting you use at all though.
During the day open curtains and allow the natural sunlight to shine through.
Then you will only need to turn on the lights at night when the sun goes down or
on cloudy days.

The use of sky lights has become very popular for businesses and even in newer
homes. This allows the sun to be shining through the ceiling and so less
electricity has to be used. Some of the larger retail stores such as Wal-Mart use
this as much as possible.
Look up as you walk through one of their stores. You will notice during the day
they don’t have very many lights on at all. Sometimes a cloud will roll in front of
the sun and you will notice it immediately gets darker in the store than before.
They are saving a huge amount of money on electricity and they are also helping
the environment.

There are many ways in which you can generate electricity too that comes from
alterative power. You can place solar panels on your roof which will collect
electricity. That is the source your home will use for all of its needs when you turn
the power on to something.
Should you run out of the solar power that has been collected it will immediately
kick over to the regular electricity without any interruption to you at all. There is
also the use of wind and water power in some areas. Take a look at these
alternative methods and see what you can do with them for your own home.

A big waster of electricity that pollutes the environment is leaving light bulbs
burning on your porch when you are away from home. You don’t have to go
without lighting when you return but you don’t need to do it that way anymore.
There are some great alternatives to consider.

You can place decorative solar lights along your driveway. Some of them are
very short while others are tall lantern style. It is completely up to you which look
you would like to have for the landscaping of your home. Since you don’t need to
plug them in to an outlet you can place them anywhere you would like to out
there.

These lights collect power from the sun in the day time and as soon as it gets
dark they will illuminate your hard. When they run out of solar power they will turn
off. Should they have enough to last all night then they will turn off when they sun
comes up and start collecting energy to use all over again.

Another alternative is to install a motion light. This is a type that doesn’t have to
be left on when you leave home. When you pull into your driveway it will turn on
based on the movement it has detected. It will remain on for a short period of
time which allows you to get safely into your home with the light you need.

The use of windmills in many areas to create energy is also being looked at.
Sometimes water known as hydropower is available too. However, the light bulbs
you use can help you get the most out of these benefits.
If from start to finish everything in your electricity gathering and using process is
eco-friendly you won’t feel bad about consuming it to operate lights and the
electronics that you use in your home and business.

Are you still with us ,I hope we are not boring you with our mini series-ready for Part 4 of 7 ?

See you their ,Robbie Martin

It is very often the case that all of the talk about house solar panels is purely about the environmental benefits and going green at home. Rarely do we hear about the financial benefits of installing solar roof panels.

So what are the benefits to you….

You can make a profit simply by installing Solar Roof Panels at your home.

Many people are building and installing house solar panels right now and not only saving money, but making money at the same time.

How can you make money?

Well, I can reveal to you the primary ways for you to make money by installing solar roof panels at your home.

Here is how you can make money :

1) Selling Electricity – It is perfectly possible to sell any excess electricity straight back to your current supplier. If you generate more electricity than your house requires, you can make money easily by selling it back!

2) Increased House Price – A house installed with full working house solar panels is worth more than one that isn’t. I know which I would be more interested in if I were looking to purchase a house and many agents now are recognizing this and rewarding sellers who have made the effort.

3)Tax Rebates – Not too many people know this but in many states in the US and even some european countries, you will qualify for a tax cut or rebate if you have solar roof panels installed on your property. It’s cash back in your pocket!

Important – Do not ignore these points as they are all great money making incentives which you should consider when looking at solar roof panels for your home.

Not only can you save a substantial amount of money, you can also profit aswell.

We would all like free energy right? Well, I have a major interest in the DIY solar power market and solar photovoltaic panels and I would like to share something with you.

Many people can go into the solar market a little gung ho and inevitably, mistakes happen. A little excitement and anticipation overcomes them!

Let me tell you this……

Without suitable guidance you are highly likely to fail –I don’t want that to happen to you.

If you are very serious about reaping the great benefits of Solar Photovoltaic Panels for your home, you need to know where to start and how to carry out the work correctly.

Fact:

Without the adequate help, support or guidance, the chances of you giving up and losing motivation are high. The first sign of problems without any help will be a show stopper!

Make sure you don’t make the biggest mistake that many people have already.

What is this mistake :

Not purchasing good quality manual first!

Without a well researched, high quality build guide to follow, how would you know what you are doing – believe it or not, some people don’t do this!

Sure you can pick up tips and ideas from the internet but you require a quality guide which will take you by the hand and virtually walk you through the entire process from start to finish.

Remember – A high quality build guide to show you through the entire build of your solar photovoltaic panels is absolutely essential.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking you know better and can do without. If you are genuinely serious about your solar panel project, you will know it is the most essential piece of kit you will have!

Are you ready to make your own solar photovoltaic panels?
Solar panels are available to you right now with these quality FREE Bonus Offers…….

The 21st century is full of examples of sci-fi becoming just plain science, and none is more startling than PowerSat Corporation’s determination to float solar panels in space to trap sunlight and beam the energy back to earth in the electromagnetic equivalent of radio waves.

It’s an idea ahead of its time, but solar radiation is five times stronger than any place on earth because all the atmospheric particulates and carbon dioxide don’t reduce solar inputs. There are also no clouds or storms to worry about; thus the Sun transfers nearly 100% of its energy to the solar panel.

There are, however, obstacles to space-based solar power, one being getting the panels into the ionosphere without spending a gazillion dollars, and the other involves wiring the array.

PowerSat recently filed a patent meant to solve both problems. Of course, we can’t give you the precise details, but it seems the company will build a solar array and use the power from that (code name SPOT, or Solar Power Orbital Transfer) to launch some (half, one-quarter?) of the panels into orbit via electronic thruster technology – a move that reportedly saves $1 billion.

The second solution is similar to cloud computing, or linking remote desktops to create a more powerful computer. Reportedly, PowerSat’s system – code name Brightstar – could connect as many as 300 smaller arrays into one huge one, convert the direct-current (DC) energy into radio-frequency energy, and beam that down to earth to be converted into electricity at the substation. Scotty is not part of that plan, however.

PowerSat says the inventions could save $1 billion of the estimated cost of putting 2,500 megawatts of solar panels in space, but doesn’t say how much money is still required to accomplish the feat. A 2007 Pentagon report suggests $1 billion per megawatt, with the project technically doable by 2016. Still, if one does the numbers, the distance to grid parity remains enormous. At least on earth, we’re getting close to parity, with the U.S. aiming for $.10 cents in 2010 and Europe, with its much higher utility costs, expecting parity within a decade.

Parity is the point at which renewable energy technologies like solar and wind cost customers the same amount per kilowatt hour as traditional energy sources like coal and oil.

PowerSat isn’t the first company looking to space for solar energy. Two months ago, Solaren announced a contract with California-based Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E), which has promised to buy its entire output of space-based solar power – 200 megawatts by 2016.

Solaren, now 10 years old, remains confident it can meet that deadline. PowerSat, a mere eight years old, seems equally confident of its expertise. Is it the optimism of youth, or do these guys know something that has eluded the rest of us science neophytes?

Time will tell, perhaps in as little as three years, when PowerSat launches a low-earth-orbit, 10-kilowatt demonstration project at a cost of about $100 million, followed in 2015 by a prototype. If success ensues, the company will seek out a partnership with a utility or the government, or offer an IPO to generate the funds needed for step two. Projections estimate the cost of a 2.5-gigawatt project at about $4.5 billion.
